A Fun, Inclusive First Step into the Game of Soccer
Eagan, MN (February 13, 2026) – Wave Soccer Club is excited to announce the launch of its highly anticipated Recreational Soccer Program, a welcoming, player-centric entry point designed to introduce young athletes to soccer in a fun, supportive, and pressure-free environment.
The Wave Recreational Soccer Program serves as the foundation of the club, offering children of all skill levels a safe and inclusive space to learn the game, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love for soccer. The program for 4-8 year old’s emphasizes enjoyment, personal growth, and inclusion – placing the player experience above scores, standings, or outcomes.
“Our recreational program is about creating a positive first experience with soccer,” said Westley Dayus, Recreational Director for Wave Soccer Club. “When kids feel confident, supported, and excited to play, real development follows.”
Dayus brings more than a decade of experience leading recreational soccer programs, most recently with the City of Cottage Grove. “I’m excited to join such a well-established club that truly prioritizes players and is deeply connected to the community,” he added.

The Wave SC Recreational Soccer Program is built around a player-centric development model that prioritizes each child’s growth, confidence, and enjoyment. Training sessions are age-appropriate and game-based, encouraging learning through play rather than pressure. This approach helps young players stay engaged, enjoy the game longer, and build a strong foundation – whether they continue recreationally or choose a competitive pathway in the future.
The Wave Pathway
The Recreational Program is part of Wave Soccer Club’s broader development pathway: Recreational → Juniors → Competitive. Player movement within the pathway is always optional and guided by individual readiness, interest, and long-term development—never pressure.
